'Walking Always Backwards, I remember Only This' and 'Weighing Like the Burden of Atlas On My Shoulders' by Andrew R Shondrick


This is an interesting old painting that shows the early evolution of how I draw people today. That, and the fact that this is an eight foot long painting, is why there are so many of them.


I was lost between my head wanting to respect literal proportions and my hand wanting to turn everyone into a proto-Elmer Fudds. Eventually I put everyone through the taffy-puller, turning them skinny and lanky, but you can see some pretty fun stuff happening here as I explored the fields of naivety.
